Her “carved cut-out" approach, inspired by a dream, has become her trademark. She strives to combine the artwork and legends of the past with contemporary materials of the present, keeping story-telling traditions alive.
The Retro 51 Smithsonian Woodland Hummingbird and Flowers rollerball has an acid etched design which is then plated in stonewashed copper with matching accents. The Smithsonian top ring is engraved with the individual number, and features the sun logo on the top disk. Artist Dr. Shirley Brauker uses personal experiences and her Little River Band of Ottawa culture, to combine artwork and the legends of the past to keep story-telling alive.
